Show season!

This spring and summer, some of you may be showing. I know I am! Here are some helpful hints to take home the blue.
FOR HORSES
1: Wash your horse a few days before the show. It will help restore the natural oils in their coat. If in a tight fix, you can spray on some Showsheen, or other coat cleaner.

2: Practice loading your horse onto the trailers. What if it becomes the day of the show, and your horse balks at the trailer? Are you willing to take the time to slowly coax your horse into the "cave of death".

3: Clean tack. Leather cleaner is recommended, but you can also just wipe off with a damp cloth. There are also Lexol Leather Wipes.

4: Practice the things you have trouble with. Does your horse throw it's head when you ask to come back from the canter to trot? Is he lazy? Make sure to break this these habits before the show.
FOR YOU

1: Make sure your show cloths still fit. You may have gained, or lost some weight within the off season.

2: Polish boots. Make sure helmet is in good repair. Find your choker and your lucky socks. Make sure you sleep good the night before. Have fun, and good luck!

First post!

So, I started this blog, because as a horseback rider, I know it's hard to find someone to talk to. This blog is to help horseback riders. Also, it's for advice, and talking to others witht the same passion as you!
